The Porter Road closure will now be through July 10
PORTER ROAD TO BE CLOSED JUNE 22-JULY 10
Porter Road will be closed for a culvert replacement starting June 22 until July 10 from Laymon Road to the College Township/Pleasant Township line.
There will be NO through traffic allowed during this closure, please plan ahead for an alternate route.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: PORTER ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN PROGRESS
Attention College Township residents and commuters:
College Township is initiating a major infrastructure enhancement on Porter Road from Laymon Road west to the township border. This project includes:
Removal of six large trees along the roadside to ensure clear visibility and safe travel
Widening and resurfacing of the roadway from 17 feet to 20 feet to improve traffic flow and accommodate larger vehicles
Comprehensive upgrades, including excavation, embankment work, shoulder reconditioning, pavement planning, asphalt resurfacing and sealing
Replacement of 3 aging culverts to support better water drainage and long-term road stability
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU: You may experience temporary lane closures and detours during the project. Please follow posted signage and remain alert for crews and equipment in the area.
This initiative is part of College Township’s commitment to safer, more reliable roads and a better travel experience for all.

2025 Annual Financial Report
The 2025 Annual Financial Report for College Township has been completed and a paper copy is available for public inspection at the College Township Service Center, 102 E. Brooklyn Street, Gambier, OH. If you wish to view the report please contact Courtney DeCosky, Fiscal Officer, by email at collegetownshipoh@gmail.com to arrange a date and time for inspection.
The Village of Gambier will now offer electronic recycling on the first Friday of each month from 8:30-11:00 am. Please find them in the parking lot in front of the library.
Please note: old/broken string lights like Christmas lights are recyclable.
